Join us for an intimate conversation between artist Marina Abramovic and author Daniel Pinchbeck.
Abramovic’s recent film, The Space in Between, follows her journey into the spiritual culture of Brazil, including visits to the healer John of God, her work with ayahuasca and other plant medicines. Her work has been exhibited at museums around the world, including a 2010 retrospective, ‘Marina Abramovic: The Artist Is Present’, at the Museum of Modern Art. She is creating the Marina Abramovic Institute in Hudson New York.
Daniel Pinchbeck’s books include Breaking Open the Head, 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl, and his latest, How Soon Is Now?, which the comedian Russell Brand calls “a blueprint for the future.” He was an original co-founder of Evolver, the company which spawned The Alchemist Kitchen.
In this dialogue, Pinchbeck and Abramovic will explore interrelated themes from their work, including the relationship between art and ritual, art as social action, and the exploration of the inner dimensions of consciousness using plant sacraments and other tools.
